Atlas Peak and its neighbor Pritchard Hill make some of the most extravagantly rich and concentrated (and often extravagantly priced) wines in Napa. This is Cult Cab Country, with wineries like Alpha Omega, Ovid, Colgin and Bryant. This huge mountain Cabernet is virtually black. While it is still very young, you could enjoy this now for its sheer Cabernet richness and power, or age it for a decade or more.
Interestingly, at 14.5%, the alcohol is a full degree lower than in Lee’s Meritage. But then, that’s what the best Napa mountain vineyards can do.
