This is a very nice – rich, smooth and appealing, and unusually
classy and elegant – California Cabernet.
It’s not quite as sturdy or powerful as the wildly popular Hero
and Villain Cabernet. But it’s even more gorgeous and delicious.
This is, by the way, from Treasury Wine Estates, who own many
great vineyards in California (BV, Stags’ Leap Winery, Beringer, etc.). So as
they say in the business, there’s some “very good juice” in here. And it really
does show.
Treasury’s Embrazen line
honors trailblazing women, and this Cabernet is a tribute to 19th century
journalist pioneer Nellie Bly. (Who famously went undercover in an insane
asylum and broke the record for circumnavigating the globe.) As with some other
Treasury wines, there’s an app you can install to hover your phone over the
label and Bly’s picture will talk to you.
