Wine Club Offering:
Regular Winery Price: $327 / Wines
Limited Club Price: $175
These wines are some of our favorites
and we are proud to be able to offer them at a significant discount from winery

Keep in mind, many of these great
wines sold out everywhere else (and at higher prices), and have the additional
advantage of a couple extra years of aging.
We only have 24 of these special sets
available.
2015 Belle Glos Eulenloch Pinot Noir
Winery Price $90/Club Price $44.99
One of the Wagner Family, son Joe,
owned wineries, which also includes Caymus.
This is a Pinot Noir for Cabernet
Lovers.
2015 is a very special vintage for
North Coast Pinot Noirs.
Indeed, it is the top Pinot vintage
in the Vinous Chart.
Winery Notes: “Deep crimson red in
color, with aromas of Marion berry and black raspberry highlighted by hints of
baking spices with layers of honeysuckle. A rich and opulent wine offering
flavors of Bing cherry and very ripe blackberry complemented by sudden waves of
strawberry filling with hints of vanilla, toasted almonds, and hazelnut. This
wine is velvety and supple with a long, elegant finish.”
Joe Wagner’s Belle Glos Pinot Noirs
are created in such an extravagant style that they’ve carved out their own
category.
2018 Aviary Cabernet Reserve
Winery Price $60 / Club Price $29.99
The very first Reserve Cabernet made
by Aviary. It’s 90% Cabernet Sauvignon from vineyards in Rutherford that
normally produce Cabernets at least 3 times this price. And they added 10%
Merlot from warmer wine growing sites further north.
Winery Notes: “Special moments
deserve special wines. 14 months of oak aging has this beautiful expression of
Napa Valley prepared to shine. Each year we select the best wines from up to 7
different vineyard sites to create a blend that expresses both the uniqueness
of each vintage and the elegant style of Aviary Reserve. Layers of chocolate,
strawberry, dried cherry, tobacco, and toasted oak balance with silky tannins
and bright acidity to create perfectly balanced Cabernet Sauvignon that can be
enjoyed now of aged over time.”
Tastings, which call this an “Exceptional
Cellar Selection, agrees: “Deep purple color. Aromas of cocoa-dusted figs with
coconut, strawberry jam, chocolate buttercream, elderflower, and black olives
with a satiny, bright, fruity medium-full body and an even, complex,
medium-long Spanish peanuts and pencil shavings finish with heavy oak flavor. A
decadent layer cake of a Cab with flavors of rich chocolate, roasted nuts and
succulent fruits.
This could easily be mistaken for an
elite $100 or more Rutherford Cabernet.
2016 Biale Black Chicken Zinfandel
Winery Price $55 / Club Price $44.99
This extravagantly rich old vine
Zinfandel is always a huge crowd favorite – and the 2016 is especially
impressive.
Winery Notes: “The 2016 growing
season was near-perfect with an early start and ideal weather conditions. With
a relatively steady and mild July and August and then a series of warm days at
the end of the growing season, the vineyards were able to progress to perfect
ripeness. The season wrapped up beautifully as the first significant Fall rainstorm
arrived on October 14th, just after the last of the grapes were
picked.”
The Oak Knoll Winegrowing region is
prevalent in this wine with its dark color, ripe aromatics and juicy acidity.
The nose is full of vibrant black cherries, dried fig, pomegranate, wild black
berry, fresh dark flowers, subtle dried herb, spices and fruit cake. The entry
is soft and weighty and gives way to supple, round tannins. The lovely finish
is the signature of this elegant, surprisingly feminine, and remarkably
balanced Zinfandel that is immediately drinkable and also worthy of 5-7 years
of rest.
2018 Trefethen Napa Merlot
Winery Price $45 / Club Price $24.99
Suckling rates this the best Trefethen estate Merlot. “Lovely
balance and firmness to this red blackberry, ash, black-olive and walnut aromas
and flavors. It’s medium to full bodied with a tight tannic backbone and a
fresh finish. Drink now or hold.”
Tastings.com gave it a 94 point score. “Ruby red color. Aromas of
cigars, spiced raisins, hazelnut, grilled cherries, and raspberry with a round,
vibrant, dry medium-full body and a warming complex, very long chocolate,
espresso beans, and black olive finish with well-integrated and chewy tannins
and heavy oak flavor.”
2018 Technique Stags Leap Proprietary
Red
Winery Price $45/Club Price $29.99
This wine is a blend of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40%
Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot and 10% Malbec aged 14 months in French Oak.
Even in California, location counts for something. The
superb Stags Landing Vineyard in Stags Leap is next to Kapscandy’s State Lane
Vineyard who just scooped a Wine Advocate score of 100 for it’s top $500 Cab
blend.
This wine, made by idiosyncratic and meticulous Trevor
Sheehan’s gentle hands, is deep ruby in color. Waves of blackberry preserves,
dark cherry cassis and boysenberry come with every sip.
2019 Tegernseerhof Gruner Veltliner
Smaragd Bergdistel
Winery Price $40 / Club Price $24.99
A stupendously delicious Gruner
Veltliner and dry white wine.
At 94 points, this is the top Smaragd
from this great vineyard, named for a local monk who was beloved for helping
children and the poor.
The Wine Enthusiast says: “The
aromas on the nose are subdued, giving a slight hint of yeast. The slender yet
concentrated palate holds yeasty, salty promise and comes with a slightly pithy
texture. This is still tightly coiled and needs to unfold, but freshness and
savoriness still stand it in good stead. Drink 2022-2040.”
It’s actually showing a lot richer
and creamier than expected and will also age incredibly. Deliciously rich and
rewarding as dry white gets.
